From 1963 until 1974, the Korcula Summerschool was a forum for open debate for critical intellectuals and philosophers from all over Europe. The focal point of discussions was a humanist Marxism, inspired by many thinkers from Yugoslavia as well as from Eastern Europe, the Frankfurt School and others. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx, and as a contribution to the present debate about the future of Social Democracy, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung has invited a number of philosophers, political scientists, historians and political analysists to an international conference on the “The Legacy of the Praxis Group Korcula Summerschool
From Humanist Marxism to the Future of Social Democracy”. This publication is a Summary of the Conference’s Discussions.
